Over the years I’ve, seen managers and teams endure needless pressure when the neurotypical and neurodivergent brain types meet.
I wanted to do something to help.
Using my knowledge as a certified ADHD Coach, instructor for i-act (for positive mental health and wellbeing) training. Mental Health Training and my knowledge on coaching people into employment using emotional intelligence, amongst other tools, I wrote two awareness sessions that could be delivered in 1.5 hours, virtually, was interactive and had an editable workbook to accompany the session useful for onward learning.
Earlier this year, I waited for CPD certification to prove to workplaces this knowledge reached a certain level.
I felt it was an amazing triumph to secure their approval for both my manager and non-manager sessions.
But this week has toppled that feeling.
I’ve delivered the How to be an Ally to your Neurodivergent Colleague to over 50 people!
Most delegates were from a leading UK University. Combining academic and non-academic staff (some were Drs!).
The overriding feedback was positive:
“It is always interesting to see the ways Jane presents difficult concepts to general audiences who may not have previous knowledge of the topic.”
“The content is clear, well-structured and supportive. The workbook is thought provoking and provides context and guidance.’
“A great way to get informed about the subject and find out simple and practical approaches to keep the workplace a welcoming and inclusive place for all.”
“The session gave me a new perspective and understanding how ADHD really can impact someone’s life, work, emotionally and professionally. It helped me understand my daughter more”
I know every trainer and coach out there will get the same buzz I get when you know you’ve made a positive impact on someone.
I’m now going to celebrate with a glass of fizz 😊 🥂
Have a great weekend everyone – and celebrate your ‘wins’ too!
