Ever feel like your head is going to explode?
You have a 1,001 things in it – but nothing you can identify! It’s a tangled mess!
Your manager and team are adding to this overload – not to mention those at home!
The negative voice in your head is getting louder and your breathing is faster.
Time to put the breaks on!
Having the awareness to recognise this growing build-up of magna in your head about to explode is just part one.
Part two, and the most critical part, is taking action.
When the hour’s break, swim session, gym workout is just too hard to do try a bite sized mind muscle strengthening exercise instead.
What do you need?
· A timer
· A fun/stupid activity
· Just do it!
Simply step away from your desk, find a comfortable space, set the timer for two minutes and do your activity. This can be anything, including:
Singing, yodelling, reciting/writing poetry
Star jumps, running on the spot, one leg balancing
Awaken your senses – sniff essential oils, scented flowers etc
Sketch something you see
Key point is don’t go over two minutes.
This is enough to distract your mind and start laying the tracks of increased resilience.
Consistent repetition of this technique over the weeks builds resilient mind muscle.
What two-minute window will you try?
