Change can always be changed!

I’m loathe to admit that, after living here for 40+ years, I had no idea about the jewels waiting to be discovered — if only I took the time to stop and look.

So, my new routine is to get out each morning and walk 4–5 miles, paying attention to everything I see along the way.

Today’s journey took me past an elderly residential home which, I discovered, was once the home of W.G. Grace — a legend for anyone who loves cricket.

And what was directly opposite?

A private nursery for young children.

Old and new worlds meeting, you could say!

Onwards through some narrow lanes, across a very busy dual carriageway, and past copious police vehicles on blue lights, I came across a house called The Five Witches.

What made it stand out?

It was a modern white bungalow — not a gothic building in sight!

Maybe they were named after modern witches. 🧙‍♀️😂

I’ve done a different walk each day and discovered things I never knew were there.

I’ve got some exercise.

I’ve cleared my head.

I’ve changed my scenery.

And I’ve reminded myself that there is still plenty to discover, even when life hasn’t turned out quite as you expected.

What have I been missing all these years?

I’ll be continuing with my new routine of walks of discovery. 🚶‍♀️🌿

What change have you brought into your life to counterbalance a change you didn’t want?
