Did you know…………… Police Checks

Just about every employer requires a basic police check for any of their vacancies – this is known as Disclosure Scotland.  Most employers have an in-house or out-sourced facility which isn’t a problem when time is not an issue.  These routes generally take around three weeks and cost £35+.

I’ve just done an application on line and received the report back inside five working days!

This takes less than 10 minutes to complete so long as you have the relevant details and a credit/debit card to make payment:

Relevant details for completion on line:

1)     You must have lived at your current address for more than one year – otherwise you can only do paper applications

2)     Proof of ID – passport, full driving licence or full birth certificate showing parent’s details

3)    Details of your residences for the last five years if not your current address

4)     Proof of you National Insurance – your red/blue card, signing-on card, old P60 etc

When you submit your application on line, you are given a receipt with a unique number on it making your application trackable.

Before you do this to speed up any job applications, bear in mind Employers generally only accept Disclosure Scotland reports which are less than six weeks old.

Keep the link in mind and share with any future employers where they mention the delay in you joining them because of their police vetting processes!
