Learning never ends….. even for me delivering it!

Every time I deliver the global i-act (for positive mental health and wellbeing) training. Mental Health Training programme – manager or practitioner level, I learn something new from my delegates.

This week involved 19 managers this time from a British based manufacturing company.

After an initial comedy of errors where some tried to join using their employer’s preferred platform, one other joined from a desktop with no camera or microphone we finally got underway 15 minutes later than planned. The anxiety from some was palpable but taking a few minutes to chat gave a metaphorical hug to those that needed it.

Did you know there was a white port? I didn’t but this came up with one delegate sharing their recent break in Porto.

I always start any training I deliver with ‘chatter’ getting to know the delegates a little.

This is one thought I share on every manager course – why do team meetings always focus just on work? How much more connected would teams be if we took the time to get to know people as people, not just colleagues? This lead into a discussion on how team meetings might be done differently. A nice segue into the ‘I’ of I-Act – Improve Wellbeing!

Questions, ideas and thoughts flowed, individual issues were discussed and new potential solutions identified.

On closing the course to start the delegates accreditation, I was amazed to see how many courses I’ve delivered and the number of delegates:

123 courses
807 delegates – across the globe

I’ve been lucky to work with diverse industries including engineering, manufacturing, utilities, charities, corporates, higher education (Universities) across all level of staff.

I always learn something too.

Whilst it was designed for the workplace to be used by non-medical personnel, the tools and steps of i-act (for positive mental health and wellbeing) training. Mental Health Training are transferable to family and friends too.

What makes i-act (for positive mental health and wellbeing) training. Mental Health Training stand head and shoulders above the rest – having delivered many of the rest – for me, is the following:

🎯 It’s proactive focus – easily building personal resilience before needing it
🎯 Easy to use first responder steps and tools to support others
🎯 Raise awareness of when someone might be struggling (with anything)
🎯 Over 50 tools that can be used in multiple different ways
🎯 How to have sensitive conversations whilst retaining personal safety
🎯 Know the risk of an Employment tribunal
🎯 Insight on neuroinclusion – neurotypical and neurodiverse
🎯 The support from internal colleagues in HR, Occupational Health etc
🎯 Certified by Royal College of Psychiatrists, The Wellbeing Community and CPD – giving confidence in the content

A huge thank you for sharing the learning experience with me this week.

How do you build your resilient before needing it?
